Architectural analysis of houses belonging to the upper class of Lima. The study emphasizes "service architecture"; the living space given to the domestic worker.
The work proposes a marking of this room in comparison with the dimensions of the other rooms in the house and analyzes its location within it. The study has been carried out based on houses built between the years 1930 and
2012.
The work presents a selection of 16 houses, containing the facade of the house, the plans, the comparison of dimensions between all the rooms and the architect's CV.
In the installation, the work is accompanied by a documentary video that shows the first day of work of a domestic worker where her employer shows her the house where she will work, explaining the cleaning tasks she must do, and then she is shown the room where she will sleep.
A poster with the phrase “servant rooms. There is no excuse for their location and size” was designed for visitors to the exhibition to take with them.
