Mural painted around the window of my home during the first three months of the state of alarm and quarantine in Spain. The mural addresses death from a non-Eurocentric perspective, placing it at the center of life. On one side of the mural, the way in which Spanish authorities and institutions managed the pandemic by reinforcing institutional racism and individualistic notions of care is narrated, while on the opposite side, the ways in which migrants, racialized people, and people from the global south organized themselves in a communal way to deal with COVID19 are described.
